The location of our holiday house

House at Longbeach is located in Noordhoek in the beautiful vicinity of Chapman's Peak in close proximity to the sea. From the holiday house at the end of Beach Road, it's only a 2 minutes stroll to the 6 km long beach - the longest stretch of pure white sand in the whole Peninsula and one of South Africa’s most magnificent beaches. A small footpath to the beach through the beautiful dunes starts only 100m away from the house. 
Typical street scenes in our neighborhood includes a few riders on their horses or barefoot surfers on the way to the beach, their boards tucked under their arms. 

A short walk from the house (200 m) takes you to The Red Herring Trading Centre www.theredherring.co.za , a complex with various quaint shops tucked between the indigenous Milkwood trees, where you will find: 

  • Aegir Brewery and Restaurant (local beer and playground for the little ones)  
  • A Sunset deck and a Courtyard with playground  
  • A wine tasting and tapas location
  • Art gallery and an arts and crafts centre  
  • A local hairdresser and a health and beauty centre and gift  shop.  
  • and last but not least: The Limoncello, an easy living Italien Restaurant under the shady trees.

 
Noordhoeks village center, the vibrant Noordhoek Farm Village with its five restaurants (including the famous Foodbarn) and numerous curio shops is a 3 minutes drive away. On your way to the Farm Village you find opposite to Noordhoek Common the newest addition to our excellent infrastructure: Jakes Cafe Restaurant Bar.
Cape Point Vineyards, our local wine estate, is one of the finest wineries in the entire Cape. Here you can picnic, have a wine tasting, feast at the weekly food market or enjoy the wine and food in the restaurant.
The two major shopping malls 'Longbeach Mall and Sun Valley Mall' and a modern fitness center is less than 10 minutes away.

Noordhoek is known as the green heart of the Cape Peninsula with lots of farms and stables. It has a delightful village atmosphere, the ambience is tranquil and serene, with plenty of wide open spaces, unspoiled beaches and breathtaking scenery. Despite its country atmosphere, Noordhoek has a lot to offer, including restaurants, horse-riding, whale watching, hiking trails, surfing, bird-watching and an art route. In the immediate vicinity of Noordhoek are four golf courses and some of the main attractions of the Cape like Chapman's Peak Drive (one of the most scenic coastal drives in the world), the penguins of Simonstown, Cape of Good Hope, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens or the oldest wineries in South Africa.

The main attractions of the Cape like the V&A Waterfront, Table Mountain, Cape of Good Hope, Constantia Winelands are all within a few minutes drive.
